The Arizona Department of Education’s 2016-17 Student Artwork Competition, a visual arts contest for elementary, middle and high school students statewide, is accepting submissions. There is no cost.
Submission deadline is Sunday, Nov. 6. Results in the four divisions (K-3, 4th-6th, 7th and 8th and 9th -12th) will be announced at the 6th Annual ADE 2016-17 Student Artwork Competition Reception in January.
Applications must be submitted by Arizona Local Education Agencies (LEA) representatives (classroom teachers, visual arts teachers, arts coordinators, principals, heads of school, etc.). Only one entry per student is allowed.
This year’s theme, “I Am Proud to be an American,” is to be reflected in two-dimensional artwork (paintings, drawings, prints and mixed media) on any paper with a maximum size of 12-inches-by-18-inches. Each submitting LEA must complete a digital contest entry form for each piece of art.
