Arizona Citizens for the Arts is comprised of an Executive Director and one full-time employee who are devoted to advocating for and changing the landscape of arts in Arizona. 


Catherine “Rusty” Foley was appointed Executive Director in July 2011 after having served as interim Executive Director for 10 months. Previously, she had been a board member of Arizona Citizens/Action for the Arts since 2003 and served as president of both organizations.

A lifelong Phoenician, Ms. Foley has spent her career as a communications and public affairs professional and a community leader. As an arts activist, she also has served on the boards of Childsplay and the Arizona Theatre Company, and on the Phoenix Art Museum Corporate Council. She was named the Phoenix Arts and Business Council’s Arts Board Member of the Year in 2007, received Phoenix Theatre’s “Women Who Care” award for outstanding achievement in 2009, and was recognized as a Leader in Public Policy for Arts and Humanities in 2012 by the Arizona Capitol Times. She also serves on Americans for the Arts’ State Arts Advocacy Network Council.

Kristyn Kozar is the Program Manager for Arizona Citizens for the arts. Kristyn was born and raised in Arizona and has secured degrees in both Art History and Museum Studies from Arizona State University. She has six years of experience in the arts and five years in marketing in various sectors. As the Program Manager, Kristyn is responsible for the day-to-day office management, the development, design and execution of all marketing materials, branding and communications as well as managing all inquiries, advocacy and fundraising campaigns while also coordinating logistics of Arts Congress and Governor's Arts Awards.
