Dear Friends, we lovingly invite you to HEARTS for ARIZONA, a 24-hour virtual telethon featuring live performances, appearances by artists, chefs, celebrities, business owners, and politicians statewide.

Arizona Citizens for the Arts believe that ART is the heart of humanity. Right now, hearts across the globe are heavy and weary, yet still full of love, compassion and a longing for connection.

There will be live music performances by:

Robin Vining from Jimmy Eat World, Joey Burns of Calexico, members of Phoenix Afro Beat Orchestra, Canyon Records recording artist Aaron White, DJ MEGA RANDune Sea CrewDavid Rhodes of Big Finish, SOUNDS Academy, and a guitar lesson from Lead Guitar

A glimpse into the real time creation of visual art from:

Fortoul Brothers, Faith Christiansen Smeets,  and Lia Littlewood from the Littlewood Fine Art & Community Co-op

Discussions with:

World renown Chef Chris Bianco, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, Douglas Mayor Robert Uribe, and Congressman Greg Stanton

Virtual Visits to:

Motor Palace Mercantile, La Posada, and Winslow Arts Council in Winslow; Stinkweeds record store, Practical Art, and Be Kind People Project in Phoenix. 

Also scheduled is Saturday brunch and cocktails with Lisa Kiorkis of Seven Spice Life, live floral arrangement instruction from Botanist and the Bees, poetry reading from Phoenix’s Poet Laureate Rose Marie Dombrowski, a behind the scenes tour of the Desert Botanical Garden, sonnet writing lesson with Dawn Tucker from Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival, Yoga class with Jennifer Miles

There will be children’s activities too – book reading, art, puppet shows and more – stay tuned!
