The public is invited to the free opening reception for “Dancing Devils of Yare,” featuring photography by Gina Santi, at the Herberger Theater Center (HTC), located at 222 E. Monroe St. in Phoenix. Meet the artist, and enjoy live music by Oliverio Balcells – Painting with Music and no-host bar.

The Dancing Devils of Yare (Diablos Danzantes de Yare), a religious festival representing the victory of good over evil, has been celebrated in Venezuela since the 18th century. The Sociedades del Santísimo (Societies of the Holiest) are in charge of the celebrations. Various aspects of this tradition were captured in 32 featured photographs.

The artwork is on display and available for purchase through October 1. A portion of each sale benefits the HTC’s Youth Outreach Programs. Sponsored by Billie Jo and Judd Herberger, the Herberger Theater Gallery is a self-funded exhibition program that promotes contemporary art by Arizona artists. Gallery hours are weekdays, 10:00am-5:00pm, during performances and by appointment.
