The Sinfonietta is conducting a search for a new music director/conductor, and has invited three guest conductors to program and conduct the three concerts of their 2016-2017 season. Mr. Kozacek and the other two guest conductors are candidates for the music director/conductor position.

Mr. Kozacek will conduct VVS’ Emerging Artist Concert, featuring an award-winning 15-yr.-old violinist, David Kwak, performing Saint-Saëns Violin Concerto No. 3. Kozacek has chosen a French Romantic theme to also include Herold’s Overture to Zampa, and Bizet’s Symphony No. 1 in C Major.

Kozacek holds a Bachelor’s of Music Education from University of Northern Colorado, and Master of Education and Master of Music degrees from Northern Arizona University. He has guest conducted orchestras in Kiev, Ukraine and Krasnoyarsk, Russia, and been invited to conduct workshops and high school honor orchestras in local Arizona school districts. He taught public school music in grades K-12, and directed theater, instrumental ensembles and choral groups in churches and communities in England, Nebraska, Colorado, Texas and Arizona. He was the founding Artistic Director for ProMusica Arizona Chorale & Orchestra, and was invited in 2012 to serve as the founding Music Director for North Valley Symphony Orchestra.
