The Civic Orchestra of Tucson presents “Urban Landscapes,” a free classical concert. Travel to great cities of the world that have inspired great music:
Paris — “An American in Paris” by Gershwin
Vienna — Wiener Blut Waltz by Strauss
Prague — Symphony No. 38 by Mozart
New York City — “A Salute to the Big Apple”
Also featured is 17-year-old Evan Willmarth, who will perform the first movement of Piano Concerto No 2 by Camille Saint-Saens.
Before the concert, starting at 2:15, enjoy the orchestra’s Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, where people of all ages can try playing an orchestral instrument.
A pre-concert talk by Music Director Herschel Kreloff will be held at the Joyner-Green Valley Library on Monday, Sept. 26 at 2:00 pm.
