Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is a Chicago-based brassensemble consisting of seven sons of the jazz trumpeter Phil Cohran. Their musical style ranges from hip-hop to jazz to funk and rock, including calypso and gypsy music. Together they have toured throughout five continents playing with everyone from Prince, Mos Def, Mick Jones (The Clash) and Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz). They’ve performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Sydney Opera House and Carnegie Hall. Their song “War” was featured in the blockbuster hit movie, Hunger Games.
