Choreographer Jessica Lang is known for artfully crafted contemporary work that seamlessly incorporates striking design elements with classical ballet language. The dance company returns to perform an evening-length piece developed through the Made in Wickenburg artist residency program in 2014. In The Wanderer, nine dancers move nimbly through a pastoral landscape, spinning a tale of jealousy and obsessive desire that terminates darkly at a babbling brook. The narrative is set to a live musical performance of Franz Schubert’s song cycle “Die Schöne Müllerin.”
