ZUZI! Dance presents the fall edition of its biannual No Frills Dance Happenin’. A variety of choreographers throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona come to share fresh and innovative works from various stages of the creative process. The works range from serious to silly and some are presented here for the first time. This year features choreographers from ZUZI!, Billbob Brown, MAC & Company, and others.
“The ‘No Frills’ concert has come to serve two important purposes,” says ZUZI!’s Director of Arts Education, Nanette Robinson. “It has become a popular venue for showcasing youth performers, schools, and youth choreography and it continues to be venue for local choreographers to take creative risks with new work.” The show has been described as an open mic for dance and is a unique opportunity to perform in a relaxed setting. As the name suggests, there are no frills—no fancy lights, no fancy sets—just dancers, choreographers, and experimentation.

No Frills Dance Happenin’ will highlight both adult and youth choreographers and performers on Friday, November 4, at 7:30 PM in the ZUZI! Theater at the Historic Y at 738 N. 5th Avenue in Tucson.
