We are often led to believe that popular music and especially musical theatre is a male-penned art form. But over the years, some of our most powerful melodic and lyric memories have actually come from female composers and lyricists. We’ll take you on a musical journey from the Tin Pan Alley standards (“The Way You Look Tonight” “Hey, Look Me Over”) through the Golden Age of Broadway (“The Party’s Over” “Shy” “Some Other Time”) up to contemporary pop (“True Colors” “”I Will Remember You”) and musical theatre (“How Could I Ever Know” “New Music” “You Matter to Me”), celebrating the contributions women have made and continue to make to our Great American Songbook.  Ticket price includes appetizers.
